Music In The Schools

At the end of August/beginning of September I played on The Magdalen Islands in Cap-aux-meules at a wonderful little theatre called "Pas Perdus". It was another Gerber/Zeller show with, the one and only, Jim Zeller on harmonica. The show was full, the weather was perfect, the beaches  were endless and I even had the chance to go mackerel fishing one beautiful afternoon on a friends boat. I hope to return there next summer and do a show with my family.

I just returned from a three-week Maritime tour and played mostly at schools. I did some elementary schools for five to eleven year olds and high schools for students fourteen to eighteen years old. The kids were playing the violin, clapping their hands, stomping their feet, dancing and howling like dogs. In the concert/workshop I focused on a self-taught, intuitive feel for learning to play various musical instruments and eventually composing your own songs. Everyone, the students, teachers & administrative staff, were enthusiastically receptive and it was certainly tons of fun! I would love to do more of that in the future.

I also performed at "The Trenton Artworks" in Trenton,NS, "The Carleton" in Halifax and a cozy house concert in St. John, NB at the home of my good friends, Wes, Jeannie, Molly and Fin.

This is starting to look like a mighty fine autumn!
